July 18, 2017: Statement from Acushnet Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher:

“At approximately 10:50am this morning a 911 call was placed from the office of Crabbe Chiropractic (132 South Main Street) reporting that a vehicle had crashed into the building. Police, Fire and EMS responded within minutes. First responders found a passenger vehicle approximately eight feet into the building having been driven through the glass door / window assembly. The sole occupant of the vehicle, an elderly female driver, stated she was not injured but was unable to exit the vehicle due to debris lodged against the driver side door. The driver was removed from the vehicle by first responders and assessed by Acushnet paramedics. Two employees in the building at the time of the incident were not injured.

The Acushnet Building Commissioner was on scene also within minutes and assessed the integrity of the building. The building owner also arrived on scene and assumed responsibility for securing the structure. The incident remains under investigation by the Acushnet Police Department.

We would like to express our support for the owners, staff and clients of Crabbe Chiropractic and look forward to their regaining full use of their office as quickly as possible”.
