“On Sunday, May 9, 2021 at approximately 4:00 p.m., The Mattapoisett Police Department requested assistance from the Dartmouth Police Department K-9 Division with locating a non-verbal missing male with dementia.

Upon responding to Mattapoisett, Dartmouth officer Jared WHITE, along with his K-9 partner Tyr, performed a track on the missing male based off of an article of clothing.

Upon narrowing the area down based on the K-9 search, the missing male was safely located lying on the ground behind a woodpile.

According to Dartmouth Chief of Police, Brian P. LEVESQUE, ‘This is a great example of departments using their collective resources in order to achieve a positive result. The outcome of this incident further solidifies my belief that our K-9 Division is one of the best in the area.'”
