In accordance with Governor Charlie Baker’s mandate to law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth, by way of Executive Order 578 of 2017 in which the Governor reconstituted the Governor’s Task Force on hate crimes, Detective McGuire recently completed a course of training on civil rights, and he has readily acclimated himself to this new assignment.

Going forward Detective McGuire will be the liaison between the department and our community on all aspects of civil rights including, but not limited to, the awareness, detection, prosecution, and proper reporting of hate crimes and all constitutional deprivations. Additionally, Detective McGuire will be our subject matter expert on civil rights, and as such, he will conduct trainings of all our personnel in this discipline.

Detective McGuire has commenced community outreach efforts to hear all voices in our town on such an important topic in the environment our society presently finds itself. He will be carrying on our agency’s sincere commitment to fair and impartial policing where procedural justice is guaranteed for all.

Please feel free to contact Detective McGuire if you have any questions or concerns in the areas of civil and constitution rights.
