Cruiser Struck While Transporting Prisoner

At approximately 2:30 a.m. today a Massachusetts State Trooper was transporting a prisoner when his cruiser was struck by another vehicle at Columbia Circle in Dorchester.

The male prisoner was transported to Boston Medical Center for evaluation for possible minor injuries. At the time of the crash, the man was being taken to the South Boston Barracks to be booked following his arrest for OUI.

The operator of the vehicle that struck the cruiser, a woman, was determined to have had a suspended license and will be cited.

The trooper and the other driver were not injured.

The crash was investigated by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
