Councilor Gomes pushes for property tax breaks for senior volunteers

New Bedford City Councilor Brian Gomes is pushing for “Personal Property Exemption from Taxation for the purpose of giving a tax break to our seniors over the age of 60 who volunteer to provide services to the City of New Bedford.” His motion made it through the Committee on Veterans Affairs, Elderly, Youth, Health and Housing and Disability Issues and will be addressed in the New Bedford City Council session this Thursday.
