Convicted heroin trafficker arrested in New Bedford for cocaine and fentanyl trafficking

On Saturday, July 20th, members of the New Bedford Police Department’s Narcotic Unit concluded an investigation into a fentanyl distribution service operated out of 49 Winsor Street in New Bedford.

Detectives executed a search warrant at 49 Winsor and discovered over 83 grams of fentanyl, 95 grams of cocaine, and $1,400 in cash. The target of this investigation was Randall S. Silvia, 41, of 49 Winsor Street, New Bedford.

Mr. Silvia was arrested and charged with the possession of class A, class B, and trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. These were subsequent charges as Mr. Silvia was convicted in 2015 for trafficking heroin and cocaine.

Mr. Silvia is due to be arraigned in Third District Court on Monday, July 22. The lead investigator was Detective Timothy Soares.
