Community Nurse Home Care Hospice Volunteer Training; Learn the tools to provide compassionate care for a family facing a terminal illness, Sept. 21st & 28th

Community Nurse Home Care will offer training to individuals interested in becoming Hospice Volunteers. The training will take place on Saturday, September 21 and Saturday, September 28 at Community Nurse Home Care, 41 State Road in Dartmouth. No medical background is necessary.

The training is designed to supply Hospice Volunteers with the tools needed to provide compassionate care and support to patients and their family members coping with a terminal illness. To register, contact Cecile Sanders, Volunteer Coordinator, csanders@communitynurse.com or 508-992-6278. Please register before August 30.

Hospice volunteers are an important part of the hospice interdisciplinary team, providing companionship and support during end of life. Our volunteers learn how important communication, commitment and compassion are to the patients and families we serve. As a part of the hospice interdisciplinary team we strive to provide patients and their caregivers with the best that we have to offer through training and experience.

About the Hospice Volunteer Program
Community Nurse established the first Medicare Certified Hospice program in southeastern Massachusetts and has long set the standard for end of life care. We support our patients and families by honoring their choices, preserving their dignity and addressing individual needs. This training prepares our hospice volunteers for a variety of roles. Direct Care Volunteers provide companionship and support to the patient and caregivers, while Indirect Care Volunteers provide office and clerical support.
