During the annual Santa Party at the Schwartz Center for Children on December 18th, Clarke, New England’s Official Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen, sent a team to deliver a gourmet gingerbread house, designed to bring the Schwartz Center logo to life, and dozens of gingerbread cookies all set for the children to decorate and eat.

“We couldn’t let this wonderful holiday tradition pass without sending our good wishes and treats for the Schwartz Center’s children,” said Clarke President and CEO Tom Clarke, who is a huge fan of the work being done in Dartmouth, MA by the Schwartz Center team. “Even Santa needs bakers to cater his holiday parties and we’re happy to help this year.”

Clarke Test Kitchen Chef Brittany Williams, a recent graduate of the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University, designed, baked and decorated the 24″x 36″ gingerbread house.

“I was inspired by the Schwartz Center logo and wanted our gingerbread house to reflect the warmth and color and whimsy of the graphic house in the Center’s identity,” said Williams. “We wanted the Clarke Gingerbread Home to be something very special that can be used at the Santa Party for years to come.”

Williams worked for weeks to design and engineer the house to embrace the colors, hearts and fun seen in the logo and to be something that could be preserved, as opposed to the fate of most gingerbread houses that are eaten or discarded after the holidays.

This Gingerbread Home is part of the Schwartz Center’s Santa Party, where the community room is transformed into the North Pole for one day. Schwartz Center founder Agnes “Posa” Raposa established this tradition over 60 years ago. The celebration lives on thanks to the generosity of Elaine Gaspar, a friend of the Center who has provided funding for the party for the past ten years to assure that every child has a present and the staff has lunch.

“We are always moved by the gesture of kindness and love our friends at Clarke offer to our children. The Gingerbread Home is amazing, with intricate details modeled after the Center, down to the ‘where love sees no limits’ words written over the candy cane doorway. We are truly grateful to each and every person who gave of their time to create this exceptional experience and put such wide smiles on the faces of not only our children, but also our staff,” said Mary Hodgson, CEO.
