City of New Bedford facilities to have delayed opening; some closings

“City facilities will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. today, including libraries and City Hall. Buttonwood Park Zoo is closed today.

There is trash pickup today. Please check on your barrels. If you have Thursday trash pickup, such as Ward 5, please delay putting your trash outside until tonight or tomorrow morning so barrels don’t blow over.

Report power outages to Eversource at 1-800-592-2000. Anyone who encounters a downed power line should treat it as live and stay clear of the area. If the downed line poses a threat to public safety, residents should call 911. See outages for New Bedford and the region at: https://outagemap.eversource.com/external/default.html

Stay safe and slow on local roads. To report fallen trees, call the Department of Public Infrastructure at: 508-979-1550.
