Police Chief Joseph Cordeiro and the New Bedford Police Department invite the public to visit downtown New Bedford from noon to 4 this Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, to “lend a hand” in creating the department’s holiday window.

The New Bedford Police Department will be decorating the front window of Bristol Community College’s 188 Union Street location as part of the New Bedford Cultural Council’s annual “Deck the Windows” program in Downtown New Bedford. Each year organizations decorate creative window displays throughout the downtown and compete for top honors.

New Bedford children are encouraged to add their handprints to this year’s NBPD sponsored window, which will reflect the department’s theme of City of One.

Chief Cordeiro strongly believes that by working together, residents make the city stronger. The children’s handprints will create a colorful illustration of that important message and reflect that young people are our city’s future.

Children will also have the opportunity to take a photograph behind the wheel of a police vehicle that will be parked outside the building so bring your cameras!

Pizza lunch will be provided by Domino’s Pizza. Kids can also receive fun stickers courtesy of the New Bedford Police Department.
