On Thursday, July 23, Mayor Jon Mitchell and representatives from the New Bedford Mass in Motion Team will celebrate the grand opening of the New Bedford Farmers Market at Custom House Square in historic downtown New Bedford.

The event will feature live music by Cedric Josey, sponsored by Mayor Jon Mitchell and Destination New Bedford, activities for children, and a short speaking program led off by the Mayor at 5:00pm.

The farmers market has been open in Custom House Square on Thursdays from 2:00 to 6:00pm since June 18, and as the growing season progresses and the market is in full swing, the grand opening celebration aims to showcase all the market has to offer.

Farmers and vendors will be selling fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken, meats, eggs, baked goods, jams, and more.
