Vintage Easter Bunny Photos That Will Haunt Your Dreams

Every year I’ll see friends post adorable Easter Bunny photos from their mall photo session, but what I enjoy is finding gems like this that come across my Facebook feed. We’ve all seen plenty of ones with sad and crying kids, but that happens even with the best bunny costumes. You really need to get in the wayback machine and go back in time for those classic, vintage photos with awful, hilarious and terrifying costumes for the full effect! This year I’ve taken the time to collect them into a rogues gallery of sorts featuring our intrepid bunny. Sit back, scroll through and enjoy!

Lets kick things off with this classic; is he a dad trying to hard or the next John Wayne Gacy?

The little dude in this classic shot really doesn’t know what to think!

Not gonna lie, this kid looks pretty happy:

The family seems pleased, but our bunny looks completely sloshed!

Another happy bunch of kids, but I’m pretty sure thats the abominable snowman and not a bunny costume:

Screaming child and the worst fake lashes I’ve every seen:

To quote George Takei, OH MY.

Poor kid doesn’t know what to think, except maybe use less lipstick next time!

Some interesting vibes with this one; could be robbing the place or, I personally think he’s pointing at another bunny like the classic Spiderman pointing meme:

This one is pretty creepy / cool. I get a JAWS flashback because the egg looks a bit like sharks mouth.

A classic 1970’s Furrie, before their time!

I am 100% positive that mask is a paper plate; nice job McGyver!

Excuse me sir, either your wearing that backwards or you’re gonna have to put that back in your pants.

This creature is a refugee from Five Nights at Freddie’s

The red demon eyes are a dead giveaway; OR the little girl has possessed the poor bunny.

100% convinced this is a mouse costume. Someone stole the outfit from Chuck E Cheese and is totally moonlighting on the side.

Sorry kid, there is no escape!

This was the day that Janine questioned her life choices…

And a few timeless classics to wrap things up… Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane! Happy Easter~

Massachusett’s Gov. Baker celebrates 2022 kick-off of popular ‘Summer Nights’ program

Second kickoff event of the 8th annual Summer Nights Program at the DCR’s Roxbury Heritage State Park in the City of Boston.

The Baker-Polito Administration today celebrated the second kickoff event of the 8th annual Summer Nights Program at the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Roxbury Heritage Park in the City of Boston. This year, the Administration increased funding for the program to $2.5 million from $1 million, after beginning the program with $213,000 in 2015 after taking office. Additionally, the Administration is partnering with over 70 organizations this summer to offer free programming in the following communities: Boston (Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roxbury, and South Boston), Beverly, Brockton, Cambridge, Chelsea, Haverhill, Holyoke, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Methuen, Milton, New Bedford, Quincy, Randolph, Stoughton, Springfield, Taunton, and Worcester.

“Since 2015, the Summer Nights Program has ensured many teens and young adults have had the opportunity to participate in free, active programming offered in their community in a safe and social environment,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “Our Administration has worked hard to partner with organizations, municipalities, and public safety agencies to provide Massachusetts youth with enriching programming that will impact teens beyond the summer months.”

“We started the Summer Nights Program with just a handful of partners and locations, and now through our collaboration with organizations, we have successfully expanded it to include over 1,000 events throughout six weeks during the summer season,” said Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito. “Importantly, the program engages youth by building their confidence and introducing them to educational resources and recreational activities to become successful, well-rounded adults.”

The Summer Nights Program will run through August 20, 2022, and offer activities such as basketball skills, drills and tournaments, volleyball, yoga, dance, martial arts, flag football, corn-hole, fishing, ping-pong, cardio boxing, swimming, cooking, painting, zumba, dodgeball, tennis and nature exploration. Programming also includes sessions on leadership skill building, health and wellness, poetry, academic tutoring, storytelling, animation, music, media production, and career and college readiness programs. For a full list of programming, please visit the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Summer Nights Program webpage.

“The Baker-Polito Administration has committed to expand the Summer Nights Program each year, and with our many partners have continued to provide more diverse and inclusive opportunities for young people throughout the Commonwealth every year,” said Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Beth Card. “It is fantastic how much Summer Nights has grown since 2015, and we are proud to support the collective effort in order to give teens safe and fun spaces to learn and grow at through such a wide variety of programs.”

“DCR is excited for another year of the Summer Nights Program, because we can see the impact it has on the young people that participate each summer,” said Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Doug Rice. “This program not only provides a fun and safe environment for kids in urban areas to get outside, it offers the opportunity to socialize and learn new things, demonstrating the Baker-Polito Administration’s commitment to urban youth and community building.”

DCR partners with municipalities, organizations, public safety agencies, and others through grants to established urban youth engagement programs that are both free and safe in urban areas during the summer season. Additionally, DCR’s popular Movies in the Parks Series returns and will be offered as part of the Summer Nights Program with family friendly movies being offered at the agency’s Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston, Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park in Uxbridge, Lowell Heritage State Park, Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester, and Sylvester Baxter Park in Somerville. This year’s featured movies will include Encanto; Frozen 2; Onward; Trolls: World Tour; Uncharted; Sing 2; and Cruella.

The Summer Nights Program was created to provide young people ages 13-21 in urban areas with the opportunity to participate in recreational and educational activities during the evening hours in a safe environment. During the last eight years, the program has expanded from just four partners when it launched in 2015 to 74 partners today.

Bask, Inc. to Sponsor “1440 Project” at Gallery X in New Bedford this Saturday

If you don’t know what a 1440 Project is (and i did not!) you ask!

Joanna Tomasz, the Executive Director of The Collective was happy to fill me on one happening right here in New Bedford at Gallery X. “A 1440 Project is a performance concept where all the material, including 10 minute plays, music, and spoken word/poetry, are created, rehearsed and performed in the span of 1440 minutes, or 24 hours.”

On Friday night at 7pm a random writing prompt is given to all the participants, at 10am the next day each playwright has to submit their new 10 minute play, the plays are then cast through a draft of local actors, rehearsed, memorized, and then put live in front of an audience at 7pm Saturday night. There is a second showing at 9pm called the “stumble through” where the actors are encouraged to improvise and loosen up the performance. The poets and musicians have from 7pm Friday to 7pm Saturday to create a new piece of work based on the writing prompt and perform it live.

The Collective NB is producing three 1440 Projects this winter/spring and is taking the newly created material from these shows and developing a brand new full length theatrical experience for the summer series at Haskell Gardens and the Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, August 11-13th and September 22-24 respectively. The first 1440 was in February, the upcoming one April 16th is sponsored by Bask, and there will be a third in June, date and location tbd.

This particular 1440, sponsored by Bask, is a 420 themed show. Ticket price includes food provided by a local restaurant, there will be beer and wine for purchase, it is a 21+ event. There will be folks from Bask promoting their business and products, but no cannabis will be for sale at the event. Bask has been an annual sponsor of The Collective for 4 years, and for this event they are the headlining sponsor.
