Help save a life!

Dear Friend in the Community,

My name is Matthew Brodeur and I am the Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 7 New Bedford. Troop 7 is all about making a difference in the lives of young men by helping them to become engaged citizens, and taking action in our community. In keeping with this tradition, we have established a community blood drive program in partnership with the American Red Cross, and the Waypoint Events Center at the Fairfield Inn, which is located in Historic Downtown New Bedford.

I am writing to you to ask for you to help us be someone’s hero through your cooperation and support in spreading the message about our upcoming blood drive (which will occur on March 18 from 1-6) to members of your organization as well as partners, and subscribers to ensure the success of our event, whereas every donor and or potential donor counts and is vitally important to help save lives, because every 20 seconds someone in the U.S. Receives a blood transfusion.

Approximately 6-7% of the population is willing and able to give blood due to restrictions and other concerns about the blood donation process. The process itself is very safe and only takes a few minutes once you complete the questionnaire and pre-screening and is relatively painless. It is imperative that we get the correct information to potential donors and empower and encourage them to take a few minutes of time to make a difference in someone else’s life. Each donor may help to save up to three individual’s lives, and give them a second chance.
