A flyer circulating in a local New Bedford Black Lives Matter Facebook group is pushing for attendance for a “lie-in” at the newly openened Trump store in Somerset this Sunday.
For the Lie-in, the flyer states they “will lie down on the sidewalk outside of the Trump store holding a sign with a name of a Black life you want to honor.”
Don’t spread love anymore… spread HATE, spread COVID.
The problem isn’t even the blacks in the black lives movement, its the white people that stir everyone up and start any aggression and riots. The movement as a whole is flawed. I for one, and I know many, many people who agree, I could care less about the color of anyone’s skin, thats not what matters, its about the contest of peoples character. All the rioting is exactly whats causing the original Civil rights activists; Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks for example; to roll in their graves because BLM is setting African Americans back a hundred years.
Protesting a Trump store has nothing to do with the message that the BLM movement is trying to send, all anyone is doing is disrupting the businesses that surround the store, especially if you don’t live in the town of Somerset, a peaceful quiet town where everyone is respectful of one another.
Why are these protest not happening locally in low income neighborhoods? These protest should be happening in high crime areas where there is a larger police presence not in Somerset which is probably primarily middle class and no offense but probably has a very small black population. No one is going to the hoods of Fall River and New Bedford and barking at the police or blocking streets down in those areas.
