Biddeford Police charge New Bedford man for discharge of firearm, crack cocaine, assault

“The Biddeford Police Department announces the arrest of Julius Andrade (20 years of age) of Allen Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who was wanted by the Biddeford Police on charges of Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, both Class C felonies.

Mr. Andrade was wanted in connection with a January 26th shooting incident at 2 Main Street, North Dam Mill in the City of Biddeford. Mr. Andrade, while in the process of perpetrating an assault of a resident discharged a firearm, with the projectile penetrating the wall of the apartment and entering an adjacent occupied apartment. No occupants were injured as a result of the shooting.

Mr. Andrade was arrested by New Bedford Police narcotics unit detectives on the outstanding warrants sought by Biddeford Police as a result of an intensive investigation by Biddeford Police officers including detectives, crime scene personnel and community policing officers, and in coordination with the United States Marshals – Maine Violent Offender Task Force and New Bedford Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, Mr. Andrade was reported to have been in possession of approximately 100 grams of crack cocaine.

Mr. Andrade was booked into the Bristol County House of Corrections in New Bedford, Massachusetts, with a $50,000 bail.” – Biddeford Police Department.
