Azorean Maritime Heritage Society to host scholarship fundraiser dinner/dance

Enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing, and cocktails while raising money for scholarships for local high school students at the Azorean Maritime Heritage Society’s annual Winter Scholarship Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Century House (107 S. Main St., Acushnet, MA).

Last year, the Azorean Maritime Heritage Society awarded $6,500 in college scholarships to six Greater New Bedford area students. The annual fundraising dinner is a fun way to support these scholarships, meet new people, and enjoy a night out with friends.

Tickets cost $40 per adult and $20 per child 10 and under. There will also be a raffle for great prizes donated by local businesses.

To purchase tickets, visit www.azoreanmaritime.org, or pick up tickets at Luzo Auto Center (19 County St., New Bedford). Pre-purchased tickets are required. For questions, contact Barbara Traban at (508) 971-4627.

The Society promotes Azorean culture and shared maritime heritage by raising awareness and pride within New England’s Portuguese-American community. The Society will be hosting the 11th International Regatta in New Bedford in 2021. The community is invited to come out for a free row or sail on these magnificent boats in Clarks Cove during the summer boating season. More information can be found on the Society’s website at www.azoreanmaritime.org.
