Dr. Christopher Boerl, candidate for New Bedford at-large City Council, reported yesterday on Facebook that his wife pricked herself with a needle while reaching for one of her kid’s Batman toy at Buttonwood park.

It’s a shame that this happened. I’ve know Dr. Boerl and his wife since my freshman year of high school. I know plenty of people are wondering if this was a set up. I can debunk any of these claims. This family has been nothing but kind and honest to me and anyone else I’ve seen them come across. They’re possibly the most polite and outspoken people I’ve ever met. He’s never been the kind of person to use corrupt methods for anything. Since the day I’ve met him, I’ve honestly really looked up to Dr. Boerl. I know that this event has stressed out their family greatly and these rumors spreading about surely doesn’t help. I should also add that this is a common thing in New Bedford and as I said on the New Bedford Guide post, just because he’s a candidate doesn’t make him invincible to bad things happening. It’s time people realize that. He and his family are humans, just like us. We shouldn’t disregard and disrespect their issues simply because of their ambitions.
The most important thing is that she is ok and no chhildren were hurt .I dont believe this was made up since needles are found all across this city including one i found in front of my home .
