Research has clearly shown that staying active is a powerful way to manage Alzheimer’s or another dementia. To provide those living with mild Alzheimer’s disease or a memory disorder with opportunities for social engagement, the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter will host a free program on Thursday, June 13.
This free engagement opportunity is part of the Alzheimer’s Association Alz Meet Up program. It is intended for individuals with mild memory loss and their care partners.
The event begins at 1:00 p.m., at Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum, 396 County Street, New Bedford. Attendees will enjoy a visit to one of New Bedford’s most influential townsmen and entrepreneurs, William Rotch, Jr.’s home. The house occupies a full city block and features a formal boxwood rose parterre garden, a boxwood specimen garden, cutting garden and an award-winning Woodland Walk surrounding the 19th-century wooden lattice pergola.
