62-year old man mugged, stabbed in the head in the San Paulo Café parking lot

A 62-year-old man reported at 7:20 p.m. Thursday that he was attacked in the parking lot of San Paulo Café, 431 Bolton Street, New Bedford.

The victim sustained a two-inch laceration on his forehead and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment. The victim’s wallet and two hats were later recovered discarded. He reported he was attacked by two men. No further description was available.

The wallet was returned to the victim and he stated that he had no cash in the wallet but a credit card and debit card were stolen from the wallet.

Police will review surveillance video from the area.
