According to the New Bedford Economic Development Council, a $15 million project proposed at the corner of Union and North Second Street by the New Bedford Development Corporation received all the necessary permits. It would create 42 new residential units, a café, and a co-working space.
The current location which contains a closed restaurant and Alley Katz Cafe, across the street from St. Anne Credit Union and near the Custom House Square urban park, has been empty for a decade.
My question is, will it be for low-income residents or more of the usual “exclusive”, high af rents? When I hear “Cafe”, I already know the answer to my question. Seriously, this city becomes more and more of a joke. Screw the addicts, homeless, and empoverished. We worry about the tourists and our well-off citizens.
