new-bedford-police-badgeThis account is from the New Bedford Police Department. This morning at approximately 8:40am a female went to her boyfriend’s house to retrieve some clothing. He verbally threatened and shoved her. She then called police for assistance. Upon arrival at address on Austin Ct., officers learned that the male half of the domestic dispute had a shotgun in the apartment.

The suspect does not possess a license to carry firearms and he will be arraigned later today in New Bedford District Ct. Detectives are in the process of determining the origin of the firearms.

Suspect faces the following charges:

Assault and Battery on a household member
Improper storage of a firearm
3 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm
1 count of unlawful possession of a shotgun
Unlawful possession of ammunition
Possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers

  1. He’ll be out on the street in 2 days…. Slap on the wrist…..
And Liberals will be calling for more laws than this asshole already ignored…. Yet law abiding citizens like myself will be further oppressed ILLEGALLY by this police chief in this city…..

  2. WRONG….. a shotgun is not a “firearm” according to MA law…..

(just to show how ridiculous MA laws are)

“Firearm”, a pistol, revolver or other weapon of any description, loaded or unloaded, from which a shot or bullet can be discharged and of which the length of the barrel or barrels is less than 16 inches or 18 inches in the case of a shotgun as originally manufactured; …

“Rifle”, a weapon having a rifled bore with a barrel length equal to or greater than 16 inches and capable of discharging a shot or bullet for each pull of the trigger.

“Shotgun”, a weapon having a smooth bore with a barrel length equal to or greater than 18 inches with an overall length equal to or greater than 26 inches, and capable of discharging a shot or bullet for each pull of the trigger.

if ANYTHING he should’ve been charged with possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possibly the storage charge….

IN MOST OF THE COUNTRY you don’t need to permission of the police chief to POSSESS ammunition or a firearm…..

if you HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION, IT’S NOT A RIGHT!
