37-year old New Bedford man arrested for heroin trafficking


As a result of a December 22 traffic stop, a New Bedford police officer seized 32 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia in the area of 13 Rivet St.

37-year old Ernesto Montalvo of 88 E. Water Street in New Bedford was stopped for motor vehicle violations when it was discovered that he had an active warrant for his arrest. The narcotics were allegedly discovered while he was being taken into custody.

Montalvo was charged with trafficking a Class A substance and motor vehicle violations.
Officer Nathaniel Almeida was the arresting officer.
