26-year old Rockland man killed in motorcycle crash in Quincy

At approximately 09:20 a.m. today, troopers from the State Police barracks in South Boston responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Route 93 southbound, prior to Exit 8, in Quincy, which resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Michelle Sutherland of the H Troop detectives indicates that a 2010 Honda Pilot was traveling on Route 93 southbound when it collided in the 2nd travel lane with a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide which was also traveling on Route 93 southbound.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man from Rockland, was determined to be deceased at the scene. The operator of the Honda was a 54-year-old man from Milton.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Trooper Sutherland is being assisted in this investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Also assisting on scene were members of Quincy Fire, Brewster EMS, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and MA DOT.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
