23-year old New Bedford man, repeat offender, charged with Breaking and Entering

“Police have arrested a male in connection with a series of business breaks committed over the past month.

DOMINICK FERREIRA, 23, was taken into custody yesterday after being spotted in the south end by officers Juniel Jordan and Victor Ramos. He was arrested on multiple charges including breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime to commit a felony, destruction of property, and larceny from a building.

FERREIRA had been placed under arrest earlier in the month after patrol officers responded to an alarm activation at the “Honey Dew” donuts on Rte. 18. During that evening he was observed in the business and apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Following an investigation conducted by Det. R. Dacunha of the major crimes division, FERREIRA has now been charged with:

• Breaking into Calo-Rita’s Cove Rd. restaurant on May 20th, 2023.
• Breaking into Calo-Rita’s Cove Rd. restaurant again on May 22nd, 2023.
• Breaking into Churrascaria Novo Mundo on May 23rd, 2023.
• Breaking into CBG Automotive on May 29th, 2023.

FERREIRA has also been charged with unarmed robbery and assault and battery following an incident in the south end on May 22nd, during which he forcibly took cash from a victim’s hand and punched him in the face repeatedly before successfully fleeing the scene.” -City of New Bedford Police Department.
