The 21-year old victim, who sustained several stab wounds, was found in front of New Bedford Fire Station 8 on 1599 Acushnet Ave. Police and fire personnel rendered first aid before he was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
A blood trail was found in the area of Coffin Avenue and Acushnet Avenue. Detectives are actively working to determine where the stabbing took place and further details about the incident, which was reported at 8:22 p.m.
