On Friday evening at approximately 6:15pm Detectives Lorenzo Gonzalez and Gene Fortes of the Gang Unit were on routine patrol when they spotted a male who had outstanding warrants for his arrest walking in the area of Bedford St. and Acushnet Ave in the south end of New Bedford. He was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of a search of his pockets, a loaded Davis Industries .380 caliber firearm was recovered.
The suspect does not possess a license to carry firearms. Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court on gun charges; Nelson Faber age 18 of New Bedford.
