Gallery X Presents The Art of Scott Carola (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Scott Carola is a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Over the past several years he has re-ignited his passion for artwork and honed his skills as a pencil artist, working in graphite, colored pencil and pastel. He is a former corrections officer of the old Ash St. Jail, and current Detective Lieutenant of the New Bedford Police Department.

“The Story Thus Far” is a show about just that; a retrospective of the last 5 years with original works he refuses to part with and prints of fan favorites that earned him the following he has today. Poetry in Voice of Anna Douglass (7:00pm-8:30pm)
You may have heard about Frederick Douglass, but what have you read or thought about his wife, Anna? Author M. Nzadi Keita will read from her book, Brief Evidence of Heaven: Poems in the Voice of Anna Douglass, on Friday evening, September 14, at 7:00 pm. This free event will be held in partnership with the New Bedford Historical Society. Reception to follow reading. The reading will take place at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, 33 William Street, downtown New Bedford.

Genticorum in Concert (7:30pm-9:30pm)

Westport Library’s Huge Annual Book Sale (9:00am-4:00pm)
Over 10,000 books, CDs and DVDs. There are 20 well-stocked categories, with particularly large selections in Fiction (all popular authors), History, Biography, Young Adult, Children, Cookbooks, and Home Décor. The prices are great: Children’s books $0.25 each, all others $1.00 to $2.00. A Country Day at Pardon Gray – Country Fair (Tiverton, R.I.) (10:00am-4:00pm)
An old-fashioned country fair feeling sponsored by The Tiverton Land Trust complete with hayrides, pony rides, pumpkin decorating, scarecrow construction, musical entertainment, children’s games, crafts, tractor pull, great grilled food and our famous home-baked pies with a free scoop of Gray’s ice cream. 3rd Annual Upper William Street Neighborhood Festival 2018 (12:00pm-6:00pm)
