Words to sum up this weekend’s weather? Fabulous, fantastic, yay! We will average 80 degrees all weekend, lots of sunshine with no rain in sight. Perfect for the beach, a yard sale, hitting the road, grilling in the yard, or enjoying the many goings-on across the South Coast.

We welcome you to come and fill a bag of good reads for only a dollar! The Oxford Book Haven & Cafe is located downstairs in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 357 Main St., Fairhaven. Bob Gosselin Memorial Labor Day Cowboy Weekend (Acushnet) (9:00am-3:00pm)

WWII Weekend at Battleship Cove (Fall River) (9:00am-5:00pm)
History comes alive when World War II living historians arrive at Battleship Cove with an exciting display of equipment, artillery and vehicles. Get a chance to talk with veterans and relive the history of the Greatest Generation. Free with paid admission. Held rain or shine. Edaville USA (Carver) (10:00am-6:00pm)
We feature over 20 amusement rides including a Ferris Wheel, Carousel, Jumbo the Elephant, Tilt-A-Whirl, Scrambler, 2 mile narrow gauge railroad, two steam locomotives and one diesel locomotive and much more. We are also the home of Thomas Land. Thomas Land features 11 Thomas themed children’s rides including Winston’s Skyline Express, Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, Toby’s Tilting Tracks, Sodor Windmill, Sodor’s Cranberry Carousel, Rockin’ Bulstrode, Harold’s Lift-Off, Firefighting Flynn, Diesel Derby, Cranky’s Crane Drop and Bertie’s Bus Tours. International Vulture Awareness Day at Buttonwood Park Zoo (12:00pm-3:00pm)
Did you know that vultures around the world play a very important role for ecosystems? Flock on over and join us for International Vulture Awareness Day to find out how! There will be a meet and greet with our turkey vulture and activities for all ages to learn about cool vulture adaptations.

Hip-Hop Rally (3:00pm-8:00pm)

Saturday Evening Serenades: The Morons Band (Fall River) (6:00pm-8:30pm)
A classic soft rock/pop concert with The Morons, a group with a large local following from Tiverton, R.I., that performs at many venues throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Ron Farias, Mark Thibodeau, and Dave DelValle perform crowd-pleasing classic tunes such as “Sweet Baby James” and “I Can’t Tell You Why.” Fall River Historical Society, 451 Rock Street, Fall River.
