New Bedford Guide Your Guide to New Bedford and South Coast, MA
Last Friday, December 3rd, LocalOracle.com (and NewBedfordGuide.com) raised $1,235 for the Women’s Center of South Coast, Massachusetts. The money was raised through ticket sales during Localoracle.com’s Girl of the Month Finals.
The Women’s Center provides free, confidential services to all survivors and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child trauma. They have locations in New Bedford and Fall River.
A special thanks to The Blackwatch Pub and their outstanding staff. To our Master of Ceremony Andrew Graziano. To Nemes, Letterday, and Wood For Fire (who donated their entire check) for providing the musical talent. Thanks also to Jason Kelley, Scott “The Sandman” Pemberton, and Jared Morgado for judging the competition, and to all the folks that volunteered their time organizing the Girl of the Month Charity Finals. Finally, congratulations to the winner of the Girl of the Month competition, Katie McConnon, who took home the $1,000 prize.
Our next girl of the Month finals is scheduled for February and girls can enter the contest here. The date and location will be announced in the coming weeks.
