12-year old remains in critical condition after hit and run in New Bedford

A 12-year old boy remains in critical condition and another 12-year old is in stable condition with several broken bones after a hit and run at 8:55pm last night at the intersection of Blackmere and South Second Street in New Bedford. No arrest as been made on the driver.

New Bedford Police are actively investigating a hit and run accident which sent two New Bedford boys to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. The two boys, both 12 years old were operating a motorized moped when they were struck at the intersection of Blackmere and South Second Street. Both boys were not wearing helmets and suffered serious injuries as result.

The vehicle that hit the teens fled the scene and was reported as possibly an Acura, silver grayish in color. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage as result of the crash.
