Last night shortly before midnight, north end officers were dispatched to the Airport Mini-Storage on Mt. Pleasant St. on an alarm activation and break in progress. The owner had arrived and observed males running from the scene. A fence had been cut and a total of 17 storage units had the locks cut off. It appears that the suspects did not have enough time to flee with any of the property.

Meanwhile, Officers Sabrina Hinchey and Craig Ribeiro observed a 2003 Infinity leaving the cemetery across the street in a hurried manner. The vehicle was stopped and inside were three males who fit the description of the suspects. Officers located open alcohol, a lug wrench and bolt cutters inside the auto.

The three males were placed under arrest and will be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court on breaking and entering charges. They also face charges of possession of burglary tools and the adult with procuring alcohol to minors. The arresting officer was David Michalski.
