State Police Investigating Fatal Incident on Route 93 in Boston

THIS IS A PRELIMINARY REPORT

At approximately 07:50 a.m. Massachusetts State Police responded to a report of a single-car incident on Route 93 southbound, in the area of East Berkeley Street, in Boston. Preliminary investigation indicates an object impacted the vehicle. The source of that object remains to be determined. As a result, the operator of the vehicle suffered fatal injury. The facts and circumstances of the crash are under active investigation at the scene by troopers from the Tunnels Barracks, State Police Crime Scene Services and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section troopers, and State Police detectives. Two lanes are currently closed. No further information is available at this time. We will update when appropriate to do so.
