I am very impressed with the decisions that Mayor Mitchell has made. I believe he has the best interest of New Bedford at heart.

  2. The mayor, and half the people who run the city are fools. First off I don’t care what anyone says but in my opinion, this city is in no position to alter or deny any type of development period. With highest unemployment since the 70’s you should be welcoming anyone even willing to build something here.

For two, STOP BUILDING PARKS! We have enough of them! The kids don’t go outside no more, all they do is play video games. Your wasting potential land for jobs and houses and now the tax payers have to pay more money to keep up with all these park that end up abandoned and gang infested! Sorry but the aaverage citizen knows its true.

Third, the development do get, never finishes there original plans, why is that? For example, market basket! Where is the office buildings they promised, where is the riverwalk, where the boat launch area and building they promised, so row teams have a place to go and for the average citizen can have a fun day on the water. Why is the mayor not on this, why doesn’t he inform the public on what’s going on!

The city is trying but not hard enough. And this casino fiasco is unbelievable! Even if your against the casino, the way this went down is a joke! Thier 8 years of planning and 12 million waisted! You think other developers are going to want to come here and build after seeing this! Terrible….thanks for messing that one up royally and leaving this polluted pit to stay the same for another 50 years!

  3. Why is it that every basketball court in the city has the lights on all night? Seriously, if you ride by Brooklawn, Common, Buttonwood, any Park, the lights are on at 2am. They burn all night. But they make the area baseball leagues pay for their own lights. Interesting.

  4. Anyone who thinks developing the water front is bad for the city don’t belong on the mayors seat!
