New Bedford Police arrest Connecticut fugitive in New Bedford

Yesterday morning at approximately 6:50am a 43 year old Connecticut man was arrested as a fugitive from justice out of the state of Connecticut.

Det. Alberto Silva was notified by parole officers in that state that they had a parole violation for Todd Tirrell Billins. He was also wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Middletown Connecticut on April 18th.

New Bedford detectives along with the state police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the United States Marshals Office located the suspect in New Bedford. He was taken into custody without incident when he was found sleeping at a girlfriend’s apartment.

He was arraigned yesterday morning in New Bedford district court and will be transferred to Connecticut authorities.
