New Bedford man charged with intent to distribute heroin near Carney Academy

new-bedford-heroin-arrestLast night at approximately 10:45pm members of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at a Morgan Street apartment in New Bedford. This being the result of an investigation by Det. Donald Williams.

The target of the investigation, Jaymie Farland, was selling heroin out of his third floor apartment within 300 feet of the Carney Academy Elementary School.

As a result of the search, 164 individual bags of heroin was seized along with $160 in cash. Also found was a single round of 9 millimeter ammunition.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court;

Jaymie Farland age 23 of 37 Morgan St. apt. 3

  • Unlawful possession with intent to distribute Heroin
  • Unlawful possession with intent to distribute Heroin within 300 feet of a school
  • Unlawful possession of ammunition
