New Bedford emergency shelter seeks volunteers and supplies

According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) there is a potentially major and destructive winter storm/blizzard to impact the state Monday night (1/26/15) and continuing into Tuesday night or Wednesday morning (Information as of 9AM 1/25/15). 

Due to the impending snow storm, the City of New Bedford has asked for Mercy Meals and More to open the emergency shelter at 634 Purchase Street in New Bedford at 7pm on Monday, January 25th, 2015 and Tuesday night.

Volunteers are needed from 8-12pm to make sandwiches and help in the kitchen. Supplies needed include sandwich meat, condiments, soda, snacks, and soup. If you can donate anything, the shelter building opens at 7pm on Monday and drop-offs can be done anytime after 7pm. Contact Pete Wilde at 978-866-9499 if you can help.
