Here is a list of Christmas tree lighting ceremonies throughout the month of December 2014 in New Bedford. List provided to us by Neighborhoods United of New Bedford.

Cove Street Neighborhood Association Christmas Tree Lighting (December 5th)

Friday, 5:00 – 8:30pm, Cove Street Neighborhood Association Christmas Tree Lighting, Tree Lighting at 6:00pm, at Loretta Bourque Park, Ruth and Ashley Streets. Santa Claus is coming to town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 5:30pm.

Safe Zones 4th Annual Fill The Bus Toy Drive (December 6th)

“Safe Zones 4th Annual Fill The Bus Toy Drive in partnership with the New Bedford Police Department & Tremblay’s Bus 8AM-8PM”. Our goal is to fill 3 school buses with toys for our most neediest family’s in our city {PRESCHOOL – 12 GRADE} – Our 3 locations where you’ll be able to bring your donation to on December 6th are (Main Police Station @ 871-Rockdale Ave)-(Police Stations 2 -168 Cove St)-(Police Stations 3 -781 Ashley Blvd)

City of New Bedford’s Christmas Parade and Official Christmas Tree Lighting (December 6th)

Saturday, 4:00 – 6:00pm, the City of New Bedford’s Christmas Parade and Official Christmas Tree Lighting. Parade begins at 4pm at William Street and North Water Street, proceeds up William Street to Pleasant Street to the Tree Lighting at the New Bedford Main Library on 613 Pleasant Street at 5pm.

Clasky Common Park Festival of Lights Celebration & Tree Lighting (December 7th)

Sunday, 5:00pm, Clasky Common Park, at County Street and Pearl Street, Festival of Lights Celebration, Tree Lighting at 5:00pm.

Far North End Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting (December 7th)

Sunday, 6:15 p.m., Far North End Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting, at Fire Station No. 5, 3665 Acushnet Avenue. Santa is Claus coming to town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 6:45pm.

A.J. Gomes School Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting (December 9th)

Tuesday, 6:00 p.m., A.J. Gomes School Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting, at Montes Park, corner of Russell Street and Acushnet Avenue.Santa Claus is coming to town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 6:30pm.

Rockdale Avenue Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting Ceremony (December 10th)

Wednesday, 6:30pm, the Rockdale Avenue Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting Ceremony, Harrington Park, on the corner of Court and Tremont Streets (across from the Hathaway School.) Santa Claus is comingto town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 6:45pm.

South End Business Association Tree Lighting (December 11th)

Thursday, 4:00 p.m., South End Business Association Tree Lighting, Howland-Green Public Library, in front of Library, 3 Rodney French Boulevard, Tree Lighting and Santa begins around 5:15pm.

Ashley Park Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting (December 11th)

Thursday, 6:30pm, the Ashley Park Neighborhood Association at Ashley Park Center, corner of Rivet and Bolton Streets.Santa Claus ccomingto town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 6:45pm.

Bullard Street Neighborhood Association Tree Lighting (December 13th)

Saturday, 6:30pm, the Bullard Street Neighborhood Association at Riverside Park on corner of Belleville Avenue and Tallman Avenue.Santa Claus is ccomingto town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 7:00pm.

Brooklawn Neighborhood Association Christmas Tree Lighting  (December 17th)

Wednesday, 6:00 p.m., Brooklawn Neighborhood Association Christmas Tree Lighting at the Brooklawn Warming House, 1997 Acushnet Avenue. Santa Claus is coming to town with Mrs. Claus for this special occasion to visit with all of the girls and boys around 6:15pm.
