About: After spending nearly two decades designing and fabricating sets for film and theater in South Florida, Jode Ventura returned to New Bedford to pursue her more personal adventures in the artistic zone.
She is a self-taught, multi-medium artist who’s works reflect her ocean-side upbringing in New England and south Florida. Her passions lie within the waves of life; Sea turtles, colorful fish and brilliant pearls and shells are often her favorite subjects, if not solidly consisting of, always surrounded by organic accents.
Her specialties include hand-carved woodwork, handwoven freshwater pearl jewelry, “suspended” sea life in epoxy, theme-room design (sets) and body painting.
