Fairhaven woman arrested for breaking into vehicles

breaking-into-vehicles-new-bedfordThis morning at approximately 4am north end officers were sent to the 100 block of Seabury St. where a witness observed a female rummaging through a vehicle. A small amount of cash was taken.

A description was given out and within minutes, Off. Ronald Guerin observed an open gate in the 400 block of Church St. 2 more vehicles had been rummaged through at this location and money taken.

Off. Guerin was able to locate the female hiding in a yard behind some shrubs. She was placed under arrest and faces 3 counts of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.

It appears that all of the vehicles were left unlocked overnight.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court;

Rebecca Botelho age 24 of Fairhaven.
