Russian-American violinist Yevgeny Kutik will be featured in Brahms’s grand Concerto for Violin in D Major.

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra opens the second half of its 2014-15 season with “Romantic Spells” on February 14 at 7:30pm in the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center.

Russian-American violinist Yevgeny Kutik will be featured in Brahms’s grand Concerto for Violin in D Major. Mr. Kutik debuted in 2003 with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops as the winner of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition. His dazzling command of the violin will be on display in the technically demanding Concerto, considered one of the greatest works of the Romantic period.

This concert is guaranteed to cast a romantic spell over concertgoers as the Orchestra also will perform Dominick Argento’s sweeping and romantic Valentino Dances and Tchaikovsky’s beautiful Romeo and Juliet.
