A perfectly mild weekend in terms of temperature lies ahead. Well be in the low to mid 70s throughout the weekend, which may not be ideal for beach weather, but perfect for yard work, lounging, or heading out to partake in activities. It will be a wet one this weekend – we’ll see a “little” afternoon rain on Saturday, and Sunday will be breezy with rain. That shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the many things to do across the South Coast and beyond!

As always, click on the title for more or detailed information on the event. Most of the events were pulled from our event calendar where you can find hundreds of local area events each month. Pictures in the Park is an outdoor movie series being held in New Bedford’s Buttonwood Park during the summer of 2015. Coordinated by a group of volunteers, the series is made possible thanks to: partnerships with the City of New Bedford’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Beaches, which is providing activities as well as park access; the Friends of Buttonwood Park, which is helping us ensure that donations to this project are tax-deductible; and, most importantly, contributions from residents and businesses who support our mission.

The first film “Sandlot” will begin at sunset tonight, following a fitness activity being coordinated by the city’s Parks Department to engage children and families.
